High school sweethearts manage to make it through college into the working world still together and going strong. From the start of their relationship Jake has made very clear his apprehension to marriage. Kenna understood going into this nine years ago that with Jake there would never be a ring or white dress.

Now seeing their friends so eager to make such a serious commitment in their own relationships a crack begins to form in Jake and Kenna’s once solid foundation.

Will Kenna ever open up and share her dreams with Jake? Can Jake overcome his childhood issues? Is Kenna willing to accept things just as they are forever? Will her desire for a more serious commitment make her change her feelings for her one love? Is Jake enough alone or does Kenna demand more than he can give? Can they move forward full throttle into their future together?

In Full Throttle, it talks about Jake’s hesitation in making the final commitment to Kenna. They have been together forever… well 9 years to be exact. Jake knew that Kenna was “THE ONE”. But because of influences from his childhood he always believed that marriages in general are doomed from the start. With all of their friends -Ryder/Dina ( Restore My Heart) and even Brayden/Maggie (Salvaged) tying the knot, Kenna wanted what her friends had too. She wanted the whole shebang. Jake knew this and instead of discussing it they start avoiding each other up to the point where they weren’t talking at all. With the time spent apart they both realize that this issue isn’t even worth fighting over. Being together is much more important than signed papers and vows.

I love you Kenna Jean, beyond forever. You are where I begin and end. I am everything I am because of you. Without you, I am a shell, hollow empty, waiting for you to find me again. You are my home.

I’ve always enjoyed this series just for the simple fact that the characters are all likeable and easy to relate to. The stories are  down to earth and they  deal with real life problems that may occur in any relationship.  They are also on the shorter side where you can read them in just one sitting. Even if they are short though, they don’ t fail to deliver a great story. The dialogue between both characters are sincere and so heartfelt it definitely will trigger your emotional side. Another good thing about it is their story coincides with both Restore My Heart and Salvaged and I loved that I was able to see the dynamics not only between the couples but also between their friendships and even  their families.

Love this series and I am eager to see what Chelsea has in store for us in Book 3, Beyond Repair – Tiffany-Harrison and Sophia’s story.
