Book 3

Synopsis:

After a short but earnest courtship, Bianca can no longer deny her feelings for James, and though she’s tried her hardest, she can’t help but see that he cares deeply for her, as well. In a completely uncharacteristic move, she has put aside her misgivings and agreed to live with the enigmatic billionaire. Is her leap of faith the beginning of something wonderful, or is it too much, too fast?

As James and Bianca feel a growing need for each other that neither can deny, circumstances beyond their control intervene, trying to tear them apart. Amidst the ever mounting threat of a monster who wants Bianca dead, and the constant pitfalls of an indiscreet past that James can’t seem to escape, can these two passionate lovers manage to find their happily ever after.

My thoughts:

I thought the whole series was fantastic. The storyline is basically the same as Fifty Shades and somewhat the Crossfire Series. To summarize… billionaire, alpha male looking for woman to marry and share their wealth with. I thought this series was better than the other two and I will tell you why. First off it was better written compared to Fifty which seemed written amateurish to me. The scenes in this series were sizzling hot compared to both. Crossfire was better than Fifty but the violence that Gideon committed was way over the top for me. I don’t know if I could be with someone who killed for me. There just had to be another way. I know all this is a work of fiction but still that was waaaay over the top with these types of stories.

I love that the story took us through multiple settings. From Vegas to New York, Japan and OMG horseback riding in Wyoming! I will never look at horseback riding the same ever again after those scenes. Taking a look into a flight stewardess life was interesting as well. Who would have known that there were gold seeking and husband stealing biatches in that profession as well. They just seem so professional in their flight attendant uniforms I for one didn’t realize that so much drama can happen behind the scenes.

Now about the characters. I absolutely loved Bianca. She had so much going for her. Her beauty, her very strong work ethic, her compassion and kindness, her protectiveness especially towards Stephan. I loved that she was also talented and so humble about it. She never took advantage of James’ generosity and did not over dramatize  it  either (compared to Ana in Fifty or Julia in Gabriel’s Inferno). And just think, without James she would have become her own person and would have been successful in obtaining her own riches through her paintings. Granted James opened many doors for her and if for some reason they didn’t make it she would have still survived and made it on her own. If  I remember correctly one of her painting sold for like 50k.  The only thing that baffled me what why she kept her fathers crimes a secret for so long. But that couldn’t be changed otherwise the story would have been all kinds o’ different.

"No one else touches you. Only me. Do you understand?"

“I’m going to ruin you. I’ll be your first, and I’ll fuck you so thoroughly that I’ll be your last, too. You won’t want any other man after I’ve gotten my hands on you. Every last inch of you.”

So lets talk about James, he obviously had a rough childhood as well. Despite this he turned out to be a really good man. Successful, gentle, (with Bianca that is) passionate and seriously romantic.  He was accepting. He knew that Bianca and Stephan were inseparable. He never even attempted to change that between them but instead learned to integrate himself into their relationship. He never was jealous of the time that they spent together or what they shared were as most men would have gotten rid of Stephan in a heartbeat. He was generous to Stephen  as compensation for keeping Bianca safe all those years when they were younger. I loved that about him! Not only making Bianca happy but Stephan as well. And I loved that Stephan was okay with receiving outrageous gifts from James. And yowza talk about alpha male! The dialog and the sex scenes were so fan-fucking-tastic.

“I’m going to make you come so many times that you forget all the ways that you can find to doubt us.”

I like that the story wasn’t just about this couple. It was also about Stephan, about his childhood, his relationships with his men and with Bianca. I’m glad that in the book he was never far from her and that through all they’ve been through they still maintained a close relationship even when both couples were married. Duncan is sure to have a real big extended family, that’s for sure!

What I would have changes in the story? Not a damn thing. I loved all of it! It sure is on top of MY book list on what to read after Fifty Shades of Gray. I wonder what’s next for R.K. Lilley.

My Casting picks:

gabriel_aubry_charisma_towelgabrielaubry9

Model Gabriel Aubry as James Cavendish. Described as having “a deep golden complexion, combined with his sandy brown hair, which hung straight, just hitting the collar of his shirt.” HOT!

For Bianca, the only person that I would even consider is Rose Huntington – Whiteley. Model turned actress, simply beautiful!
